Shanghai Michelin Guide: THE FULL RESULTS

The results for Michelin Guide Shanghai 2017 were announced in a press conference today. Overall 26 of Shanghai's finest F&B venues were awarded the highly coveted Michelin stars, while a further 25 were awarded the Bib Gourmand.
 In attendance, we saw Paul Pairet (Ultraviolet, Mr & Mrs Bund), Tony Lu (Fu He Hui, Fu 1088), Stefan Stiller and Jeno Racz (Taian Table), Riccardo La Perna (Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA), Terrence Crandall, Tang Chi Keung and Hans Zahner (Peninsula Shanghai), chefs from Da Dong and others.

Since Michelin announced the launch of a guide for Shanghai last May, the city has been abuzz with forecasts and predictions of who will be awarded the coveted Michelin stars.

Shanghai becomes international talents' favorite city

Shanghai is the most favorite Chinese city for international talents, followed by Beijing, South China's Guangdong Province and East China's Jiangsu Province, according to a report on regional international talent competitiveness released on Monday. A comprehensive evaluation system was used to value a region's competitiveness of international talents in six dimensions – scale and structure of international talents, as well as innovation, policy, development and living environments. The report was conducted and released by the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics' Institute of Development Studies. Zuckerberg looking for Mandarin-speaking nanny for $110,000/year

Rumors are currently running wild on Chinese social media that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is currently searching for a Mandarin-speaking nanny who will be extremely well compensated for her work. The rumors are linked to a job recruitment notice on the website  Indeed . com  which has recently been circulating around the WeChat groups of Chinese living and working in Silicon Valley. That notice for a nanny includes all of the requirements that you might expect: at least three years of experience, a bachelor's degree, a love for children and basic medical training. However, netizens have picked up on one detail that is a bit out of the ordinary -- the nanny must be fluent in Mandarin. According to the notice, the nanny will have to work five days straight (from 8am to 9pm) before getting five days off, and will be paid an annual salary of between $110,000 to $130,000 while receiving full health benefits similar to that of a Silicon Valley engineer. ...
